π‘ Real Estate Photo Shoot Preparation Checklist
Make your home look its absolute best with this pre-photoshoot guide.

β¨ General Interior Prep (All Rooms)
- Declutter surfaces - remove mail, remote controls, chargers, toys, etc.
- If you prefer, tuck away personal items such as family photos, calendars, anything with your name on it
- Dust and vacuum all floors and shelves
- Open blinds and curtains to let in natural light
- Hide trash bins and cleaning supplies
- Conceal cords (TV, lamp, router, etc.) wherever possible
- Remove pet beds, bowls, and toys
π½ Kitchen
- Clear countertops - leave only 1β2 decorative items (e.g., fruit bowl, cookbook)
- Remove dish drying racks, sponges, and soap bottles
- Clean appliances - try your best for the stainless steel to be streak-free
- Hide trash cans and recycling bins
- Remove magnets and notes from refrigerator
π Living Room / Family Room
- Fluff and arrange pillows and throws neatly
- Organize bookshelves and media stands
- Tuck away remotes and gaming equipment
- Straighten rugs and center furniture
- Wipe down coffee and end tables
π Bedrooms
- Make all beds neatly
- Clear nightstands - minimal decor only
- Remove personal items and clothes from floors and dressers
- Store laundry baskets out of sight
- Open blinds
π½ Bathrooms
- Close toilet lids
- Remove floor mats, towels, robes, bath toys, and hampers
- Clear counters
- Clean mirrors, sinks, and fixtures until spotless
- Remove toothbrushes, razors, and personal hygiene products
- Hang a clean, neutral hand towel if you have one
π§Ί Laundry Room
- Clear off tops of machines
- Hide laundry baskets, detergents, and supplies
- Wipe down machines and floors
π³ Exterior / Curb Appeal
- Move cars from driveway and front of house
- Power wash all siding if possible
- Mow lawn, trim bushes, and sweep walkways
- Remove hoses, tools, toys, and pet items
- Hide trash bins in garage if possible
- Arrange outdoor furniture neatly - add cushions if available
If Necessary
- If you have too much clutter to completely remove, try to keep it all in one place. It will make it easier to shoot around, then we can move it all to a nearby different location for the final shot of the day!
- I love pets, but crating them may speed up the shoot if they are the curious type who will want to check me out!
